The premiere of 'As Good as It Gets' was held at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles on this day in 1997. James L Brooks' romantic comedy-drama starring Jack Nicholson, Helen Hunt, Greg Kinnear and Cuba Gooding Jr. was given a wide release on December 25th and went on to become a big hit at the box office, grossing $314.1 million on a $50 million budget. Nicholson and Hunt won the Best Actor and Best Actress Academy Awards respectively.
