English actor Daniel Craig was born on this day in 1968. Craig made his feature film debut in 'The Power of One' (1992). Minor roles followed in film and TV before he landed his breakthrough role in the acclaimed BBC television drama series 'Our Friends in the North' (1996).

International recognition came with major roles in the movies 'Elizabeth' (1998), 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider' (2001), 'Road to Perdition' (2002), 'Layer Cake' (2004), 'The Jacket' (2005), 'Munich' (2005) and 'Infamous' (2006).

In October 2005 it was announced that Daniel Craig would become the sixth actor to play James Bond. His debut as 007 in 'Casino Royale' (2006) was a great success both commercially and critically and earned the actor a Best Actor BAFTA nomination. He went on to play Bond four more times in 'Quantum of Solace' (2008), 'Skyfall' (2012), 'Spectre' (2015) and 'No Time to Die' (2021).

Other notable film credits include 'The Invasion' (2007), 'The Golden Compass' (2007), 'Defiance' (2008), 'Cowboys & Aliens' (2011), 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' (2011), 'Logan Lucky' (2017), 'Knives Out' (2019) and 'Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery' (2022).

In 2022 Daniel Craig was appointed Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George (CMG) by Queen Elizabeth II at the Queen's New Years Honours for his services to Film and Theatre. Happy Birthday Daniel.
