American actress Faye Dunaway was born on this day in 1941. Dunaway made her screen debut in ‘The Happening’ (1967). Her breakthrough role came shortly after when she starred opposite Warren Beatty in Arthur Penn’s ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ for which she received her first Academy Award nomination. Her portrayal of Bonnie Parker turned her into a major movie star of the 60s and 70s and she went on to star in films including ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’ (1968), ‘Little Big Man’ (1970), ‘The Three Musketeers’ (1973), ‘Chinatown’ (1974), ‘The Towering Inferno’ (1974), ‘Three Days of the Condor’ (1975), ‘Network’ (1976), ‘Eyes of Laura Mars’ (1978) and ‘The Champ’ (1979).

Other later notable film credits include ‘Mommie Dearest’ (1981), ‘The Wicked Lady’ (1983), ‘Barfly’ (1987), ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ (1990), ‘The Chamber’ (1996), ‘The Yards’ (2000), ‘Inconceivable’ (2017) and 'The Man Who Drew God' (2022). An Academy and BAFTA Award winner as well as winner of three Golden Globe Awards, Faye Dunaway is one of the finest actresses to emerge from the American New Wave. Happy Birthday Faye.
