Michael J. Fox was born on this day in in 1961 in Edmonton, Alberta. The actor, producer, author and activist rose to fame in the mid 80's after playing Marty McFly in the 'Back to the Future' trilogy. Further success followed with roles in 'Teen Wolf' (1985), 'The Secret of My Success' (1987), 'Casualties of War' (1989) and 'The Frighteners' (1996).

In 1998 Fox publicly disclosed he had been diagnosed with Parkinsons disease and has since been active in raising awareness and funding research for Parkinsons. He continued to act appearing in guest roles in several American TV series before his retirement from acting in 2020 due to declining health. Happy Birthday Michael.
