English actor Roger Moore was born on this day in 1927. Moore was the third actor to play James Bond, starring as 007 in seven films from 'Live and Let Die' (1973) to 'A View to a Kill' (1985), the most by any actor in the franchise. Other notable film credits include 'The Man Who Haunted Himself' (1970), 'Gold' (1974), 'Shout at the Devil' (1976), 'The Wild Geese' (1978), 'North Sea Hijack' (1979), 'The Sea Wolves' (1980), 'The Cannonball Run' (1981) and 'Bullseye' (1990).

He was appointed a UNICEF goodwill Ambassador in 1991 and received a knighthood in 2003 for services to charity. Roger Moore passed away in 2017 at his home in Switzerland in the presence of his family.
