American actor Wesley Snipes was born on this day in 1962. Snipes made his film debut in the Goldie Hawn vehicle 'Wildcats' (1986). TV and music video work followed but by the late 80s into the early 90s bigger and better roles arrived in movies like 'Major League' (1989), 'King of New York' (1990), 'Mo' Better Blues' (1990), 'New Jack City' (1991). 'Jungle Fever' (1991) and 'White Men Can't Jump' (1992).

The 90s also saw him become one of the decades biggest action stars with starring roles in 'Passenger 57' (1992), 'Boiling Point' (1993), 'Rising Sun' (1993), 'Demolition Man' (1993), 'Murder at 1600' (1997), 'U.S. Marshals' (1997) and the 'Blade' film trilogy (1998 - 2004).

The new millennium saw Snipes career take a dip with appearances in mostly straight to video movies but he has enjoyed a recent resurgence with supporting roles in 'Dolemite Is My Name' (2019) and 'Coming 2 America' (2021). Happy Birthday Wesley.
