'Dracula' premiered at the Warner Theater in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on this day in 1958. Released as 'Horror of Dracula' in the U.S. to avoid confusion with Universal Pictures 'Dracula' (1931), Terence Fisher's adaptation of Bram Stoker's 1897 novel was the first in a series of Hammer Films starring Christopher Lee as Count Dracula. The film opened at the Gaumont Haymarket cinema in London two weeks later.
