'Ed Wood' was released in theaters in the US on this day in 1994. Tim Burton's biopic of the infamous film director stars Johnny Depp in the title role. The movie was not a financial success but was met with much critical acclaim, particularly for Depp and also for Martin Landau's portrayal of Bela Lugosi, a role for which he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
