Steven Soderbergh's dramatization of the true story of Erin Brockovich, stars Julia Roberts in the title role as a legal assistant who discovers a corporate cover-up involving a local community's contaminated water supply and initiates a case against the Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

Roberts delivers one of the best performances of her career and went on to become the first actress to win an Academy Award, BAFTA Award, Critics' Choice Movie Award, Golden Globe Award, National Board of Review Award and Screen Actors Guild Award for a single performance.
