The 14th James Bond film 'A View to a Kill' premiered at San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts on this day in 1985. Roger Moore gave a speech thanking the city for their cooperation with the shooting of the movie, saying "I suppose the greatest complement that one could pay to another town or city is to say that you treated me like I was at home. Well, you didn't, you're much nicer!".
'A View to a Kill' went on general release across the US two days later and would become the final appearance by Moore as 007 after he announced his retirement from the role later in the year.
