The premiere of 'My Fair Lady' took place at the Criterion Theatre in New York on this day in 1964. Adapted from the popular stage musical based on George Bernard Shaw's 'Pygmalion' and starring Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison, the movie went on to become the second-highest grossing film of the year and won eight Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Actor for Harrison and Best Director for Gorge Cukor.
