'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure' was released on this day in 1989. The first part of the 'Bill & Ted' franchise stars Keanu Reeves as Ted Logan and Alex Winter as Bill Preston, two high school students who travel through time gathering historical figures in order to complete their history report. The movie received positive reviews and was a success at the box office.

Reeves and Winter have since reprised their roles in two sequels: 'Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey' (1991) and 'Bill & Ted Face the Music' (2020).
