The Beatles' second film 'Help!' had its world premiere at the London Pavilion theatre in Piccadilly Circus, London on this day in 1965. The group arrived in a black Rolls-Royce and were greeted by ten thousand fans who had gathered outside hoping for a glimpse of their idols.

The follow up to 'A Hard Day's Night' was once again directed by Richard Lester and saw the Fab Four struggling to record their new album while at the same time trying to protect Ringo Starr from a sinister cult and two mad scientists.

At the time of release 'Help!' was not as well received as the first film but is now regarded as being particularly influential on the development of the music video.
