'Rocky III' opened in theaters across North America on this day in 1982. The third installment in the Rocky franchise sees Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) turning to old foe Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) for training as he prepares to face a tough new adversary in Clubber Lang (Mr. T). 

The movie opened to mixed reviews but was a huge hit at the box office, going on to earn $270 million worldwide which made it the then-highest grossing film in the franchise.
