The Premiere of 'Shanghai Knights' took place on this day in 2003 at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles with stars Jackie Chan, Owen Wilson and Fann Wong in attendance. The sequel to the hugely popular 'Shanghai Noon' (2000) has our heroes Chon Wang (Jackie Chan) and Roy O'Bannon (Owen Wilson) leaving the Wild West behind to travel to Victorian London to avenge the death of Chon's father.

The movie received mixed reviews, with praise for its engaging blend of action and comedy and the chemistry between Chan and Wilson, but strong criticism for the  storyline. It was nevertheless, like its predecessor, a big hit at the box office.
