'The Upside' opened in theaters in the US on this day in 2019. Directed by Neil Burger, the movie is one of several remakes of the 2011 French Film 'The Intouchables' and stars Bryan Cranston as a paralyzed billionaire who develops an unlikely friendship with a recently paroled convict (Kevin Hart) whom he hires to take care of him.

Originally scheduled for release in March 2018 by The Weinstein Company, 'The Upside' was shelved following the Harvey Weinstein scandal. It was eventually bought and released by STX Entertainment and Lantern Entertainment. The movie received mixed reviews but was a success at the box office, grossing $122 million worldwide.
